About This Episode
Healthcare black holes aren’t a term I was familiar with prior to speaking with Nick Laing, but the circumstances it represents are definitely something I could well imagine unfortunately. Healthcare has come a long way but it remains a global problem and an area that provided huge opportunity for people and businesses to benefit from.
Nick is a doctor, healthcare worker and the founder of One Day Health, an organisation providing access to healthcare facilities for the 10m+ Ugandan citizens who reside in healthcare black holes, so far they’ve helped over 70k people, set up more than 20 community health centres and saved local communities over $110k in transport costs in the process.. And they have sizeable ambitions to grow.
In Episode 8 Nick talks us through what One Day Health are planning, how he and the team have got to where they are and through some of the difficulties they’ve faced and what their product actually is.
